Family Works East Coast: Counselling and Social Work

- Building Stronger Families
- Building Stronger Communities
Family Works sites on the East Coast have social workers who support families to make positive change. Families can self-refer, or are sometimes referred by other agencies. This is a free service.
The kaupapa of our counselling service is the prevention of child abuse and neglect. We proved support and encouragement to families under stress. We work with parents/caregivers and children 17 years and under.
Our team of counsellors are professionally trained, qualified and are members of the ANZASW and ANZAC.
We provide one to one counselling and family counselling. We give individuals and families the opportunity to work through issues, pressures, fears and the past with qualified staff.
All our work uses a strengths based model of practice - learn more.
In Hastings, we have a team of social workers who utilise a kaupapa Maori framework, making the service accessible for whānau that feel more comfortable with this. Learn more about Whānau Whakatipu.
